I’ve run entire parties of just Vierras to rousing success. I love every class and you really can’t go wrong. You get access to damage spells, a healing/raise spell, a few status spells, access to the Shield Bearer support ability AND the reaction ability Reflex which makes all normal attacks against them auto-miss.
No Mou is one of my favorite races and I’m a huge fan of the Sage class. Their speed stat isn’t great, their spells are all expensive (mp cost) and their damage output is kind of meh. Personally I think Illusionists are overrated. If you do use Gunner it should always be the primary job, but Juggler and Animist both have some amazing status moves. Also I believe Sonic Boom counts as a projectile for characters with the Block Arrows reaction.įor Montblanc you should look into Animist, Juggler, or Gunner. Far Fist does the same thing as Sonic Boom but for more damage. I have about twelve I swap around between and plan to at least use most of the clan members I acquire at some point, either for battle or to send out on quests. That was longer than I thought, and just FYI these arn't the only people I use. Should I just leave him with the Item command? It just doesn't seem to fit any other class. They arn't melee oriented so Soldier, Fighter, Paladin, Thief, and Ninja all get thrown out the window in my mind. All the support that say a White Mage could provide a Blue Mage can provide, they can deal big magic damage so Black Mage feels out of the picture. What would be a good combo for it? Soldier is okay but nothing great. I know Fighter's arn't the greatest but whatever, I want one of every class. I think this is a good combo but I still want other people's opinions.
The Doublecast from Red Mage seems like it would pair perfectly with Summoner. What is a good second for a Ninja? 5 Starting Viera - Red Mage / Summoner Obviously, having Steal on every battle, even when you arn't going to steal something, isn't the way to go. I'm pretty set on Illusionist for her, I just think it suits her and I like the timer it puts on battles, but what else should she be? Or, if Illusionist is really that bad without me realizing it, what should she be? 4 Hume - Ninja / Thief And after learning that other expert classes have forms of healing, I'm wondering if she should swap from White Mage. However, it seems that the stronger tiers of Cure don't add all that much healing and while things like Protect and Shell are nice, they are definitely not a top priority to learn or even use because of how quickly they fade away. She is able to sit safely behind everyone in case they need a heal while dealing moderate damage to everyone on the field, effectively putting a timer on the battle to your victory. Then when I found out about the Illusionist's stage covering potential, it felt like an easy choice. I've played Final Fantasies before so I was aware coming into this game that having a White Mage is pretty important.
3 Starting Nu Mou (Darcy) - Illusionist / White Mage He'll be in the back ranks generally so being able to cast a spell to benefit the rest of the team like Haste or Quicken seems like the way to go.Also, I've read that Montblanc (and just moogles jn general) are not the best for Mages, but I don't really care. He started out a Black Mage, so thats what I kept him as, and Time Mage seems like a good pair for it. Then after some thought, I went with Hunter as the second for the versatility they offer with the scaling ranged attack Sonic Boom, and Addle a strong move that can greatly inhibit certain characters. I wanted them to be a strong, tanky fighter and that's what led me to Paladin. 1 Marche (The Starter Character) - Paadin / Hunter
I'm just curious as to how good a couple of my job pairings are for the role I want them to play. This is a little weird, but I just was wondering how good are a couple of my more used clan members.
